Privacy

Speedometer HUD collects nothing about you. Your location is read by your phone's GPS to work out your speed, and it never leaves the phone.

Location

The app asks for precise location, while the app is in use, because speed comes from the GPS. It reads each position to compute your speed and the distance of the current trip, and then discards it. It never stores where you were and never records your route. It does not ask for location in the background.

What the app stores

Your settings (speed unit, alert limit, windshield mode) and your trip history. Each saved trip is four numbers: when it started, how long it lasted, the distance and the top speed. No coordinates, no addresses, no map of the route. All of it is kept on your phone, in the app's own storage. You can delete the history from the app at any time, and uninstalling the app deletes everything.

What the app sends

Nothing. The app has no internet permission at all, so there is nothing in it to send anything with — anyone can confirm that by looking at the permissions Google Play lists for the app. You pay for it once on Google Play before you install it; that purchase is handled entirely by Google, and we never see your name, your email or your payment details.

Advertising and tracking

There are no ads, no advertising ID, no analytics, no third-party SDKs and no tracking of any kind.

Children

The app is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with the date it changed. As of 23 October 2026, the app collects nothing, and there is no plan for that to change.
