Why does it show a dash instead of my speed?
Because the GPS could not vouch for the reading. Every GPS fix comes with the phone's own estimate of how far off the speed might be. When that margin is too wide — at start-up while the receiver settles, indoors, in a tunnel or a covered garage — the app shows a dash and "Acquiring signal" or "No signal" instead of a number. That is on purpose: a made-up number looks exactly like a real one, and it is how other apps end up reporting 186 mph on a couch. Give it a few seconds with a clear view of the sky and the number comes back.
What does the ± at the top mean?
It is the margin of error the GPS reports for the current reading. It is part of the measurement, so the app shows it instead of hiding it.
Why is it different from my car's speedometer?
Car speedometers are allowed to read high, and most do by a few percent. GPS measures how fast you actually cover ground. A gap of a couple of mph at highway speed is normal.
How do I change between mph and km/h?
Tap the unit under the number. It cycles through mph, km/h, knots and m/s, and the distance changes with it. It is also in Settings.
How does windshield mode work?
Turn it on in Settings, lay the phone flat on the dashboard, and read the speed reflected on the windshield. The screen is mirrored so the reflection reads the right way round. It works best at night.
Where are my trips?
Settings → Trip history. A trip is saved when you reset the trip counter, as long as you covered at least 50 meters. The last 200 trips are kept.
Does it work in the background?
No. It measures while the app is on screen, and keeps the screen on while it is open. It does not track you when you are not looking at it.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for paid apps are handled by Google Play, not by us. Open the Play Store, go to your order history, and ask for a refund there.
